Creating Anti-racist and inclusive Good Homes Hub model for the Centre for Ageing Better
APDA is excited to announce that we are participating in the Race Equality Foundation Design Group to help develop an anti-racist and inclusive Good Homes Hub model for the Centre for Ageing Better. This important project aims to ensure home improvement services are accessible, beneficial and equitable for all communities, especially Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic individuals aged 65 and above.
By working closely with voluntary, faith and community organisations as well as statutory groups, we will gain crucial insights into the challenges and disparities these communities face in accessing and utilising home improvement services across the UK.
Our goal is to co-design an anti-racist Good Homes Hub that addresses these issues head-on. As a valued member of the Design Group, APDA will play a key role in shaping the project's direction, reviewing findings, identifying gaps, and providing expert recommendations to make this progressive service a reality.
We firmly believe our collective expertise and insights are essential to creating a home improvement model that delivers fair outcomes for everyone, regardless of race or ethnicity.
Together with the Race Equality Foundation and Centre for Ageing Better, APDA is committed to dismantling the barriers and inequities that have existed for far too long. This is a pivotal opportunity to transform housing services and make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic communities.
