Celebrating Passover and Easter
APDA would like to wish all our Service Users, Friends, Families and Carers good health and happiness in celebrating two important festivals over the coming days.
Firstly, to our friends who observe the Jewish Religion, we wish you all a wonderful, healthy and peaceful Passover for 2020.
The eight-day festival of Passover is celebrated in the early spring, from the 15th through the 22nd of the Hebrew month of Nissan, April 8 - April 16, 2020. Passover (Pesach) commemorates the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. Pesach is observed by avoiding leaven and highlighted by the Seder meals that include four cups of wine, eating matzah and bitter herbs, and retelling the story of the Exodus.
Also, we wish our Friends who observe the Christian Religion, a wonderful, healthy and peaceful Easter 2020.
The “Easter” period for Christians around the World marks the anniversary of Jesus' resurrection and ascension to heaven.
Many Christians begin the celebration with an Easter Vigil the night before, sometimes called Easter Eve or Holy Saturday. Church services on Sunday typically follow regular church service tradition with a sermon or songs concerning the Easter story. Some churches hold mass or other services at sunrise.
The key message of Easter is hope – faith in the future, and a new beginning.
As we know the usual routines of our religious celebrations are being held differently during this difficult period, and we are all staying in to save lives. So, we wish each family well and pray with you all for Passover and Easter for new, peaceful and healthy beginnings to come soon.
We pray that our world will resume itself back to a better and peaceful normality before this Pandemic took over all our lives across the Globe.
